How it works
Three steps. No training.

Install
Click Add to Slack. Whoever installs becomes the first admin. A starter set of values is created so you can try it in the next minute.

Register your values
Replace the starter set with yours. A name, an emoji, one line on what living it looks like. Five is plenty. Ten is too many.

Type /shoutout
In any channel. Pick the person, pick the value, write why. It posts where the team is talking and shows up in the dashboard right away.

Values come first
Every shout-out names a value. Not “great job” but “Ownership, because she stayed on the incident until it was closed.” The value is the point, not decoration.

A monthly limit per person

Our position
Why values, not points
Most recognition tools hand out points and a gift catalogue. We think that is backwards. Points turn a thank-you into a transaction, and the catalogue turns your teammates into customers. A shout-out is a different thing. It says: I saw you do what we said we care about. That sentence, said in public, every week, is how a value stops being a poster on the wall and becomes a habit. So there are no points in Celebratvs. There is a name, a value, and a reason. After a few months the dashboard shows you which values your team actually lives — and which ones are only on the wall. We built it for our own team first. Then other teams asked for it.

Straight answers

What exactly do you store?
The text of each shout-out, who gave it, who received it, the value, and when. Plus the Slack user IDs, names and avatars needed to display them. Nothing else. The app has no permission to read channel history or direct messages, and we never ask for it. -
Who can install it?
Anyone your Slack workspace allows to add apps. The person who installs becomes the first admin and can promote others. Admins manage values, the monthly limit and the language. Everyone else can give shout-outs and see the dashboard. -
Can I give myself a shout-out?
No. Slack will tell you so, politely. Recognition is something you receive from someone else. -
Is there a limit on shout-outs?
Only if your admin sets one. Admins can cap how many shout-outs each person gives per calendar month. Receiving is never limited. We recommend a cap: it makes each one count. -
Which languages are supported?
English and Brazilian Portuguese, both in Slack and in the dashboard. The admin sets the language for the workspace. Need another one? Tell us; the strings are short. -
How do I cancel?
Remove the app from your Slack workspace. That is the whole process. Until billing opens there is nothing to cancel anyway. If you also want your data gone, email us and we delete the workspace's records.
