Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026. Applies to celebratvs.com, app.celebratvs.com and the Celebratvs Slack app.

Celebratvs is a Slack app made by madmorett. This page says what we store, why, and how to get it removed. It is written to be read, not to cover us.

1. What we store

  • Workspace data. Your Slack workspace (team) ID, its name, and the OAuth tokens Slack gives us so the app can post messages and open the /shoutout modal. Also the settings your admin chooses: values, monthly limit, language.
  • People. For each person who uses the app or is mentioned in a shout-out: Slack user ID, display name, avatar URL and, when Slack provides it, email address. We use these to show who gave and received a shout-out and to sign you into the dashboard.
  • Shout-outs. The text you typed, who gave it, who received it, the value chosen, the channel it was posted to, and the timestamp.
  • Technical logs. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, error traces) kept for a short period to keep the service running.

2. What we do not do

  • We do not read your channels or direct messages. The app does not request those Slack permissions.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not use your shout-outs to train machine-learning models.
  • We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics on this site. The only thing stored in your browser is your language preference.

3. Why we process it

To run the product: post the shout-out in Slack, show the dashboard, enforce the monthly limit your admin sets, and sign you in. Under the LGPD (Brazil) and the GDPR (EU) the legal basis is performance of the contract with your workspace and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

4. Who can see what

Everyone in your Slack workspace who signs into the dashboard sees all shout-outs of that workspace, the leaderboard and the charts. That is the point of the product. Nothing is visible across workspaces.

5. Where it lives and who helps us

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on cloud infrastructure we rent. Slack (Slack Technologies, LLC) processes the messages you send through the app under its own policies. We do not use other processors for your content. If that changes, this page changes first.

6. How long we keep it

While your workspace has the app installed, plus 30 days after removal so you can reinstall without losing history. After that we delete everything for the workspace. You can ask for immediate deletion at any time.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you or your workspace. Workspace admins can request deletion for the whole workspace. Write to hello@celebratvs.com. We answer within 15 days.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Slack tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Access to production is limited to the people who operate the service. If we ever have a breach that affects you, we tell you and your admin without delay.

9. Changes

When this page changes in a way that matters, we update the date above and tell workspace admins by email or through the app.
